Has honoring your needs as a wellness practitioner been easy for you?

I haven’t experienced difficulty with it in the healthcare field but definitely in my career prior.

I experienced it a lot when I worked in corporate when I worked in interior design and business development.

There comes a time where it does become a lot though because being a health practitioner is all energy work.

When it comes to burnout, these are the main signs to look out for:

  • No motivation
  • Feeling “stuck”
  • Aren’t present in life
  • Emotions are heightened

Burnout affects all layers - emotionally, physically, and mentally. This is why it is often confused with depression.

What are some ways to prevent burnout?

There are 8 practices that we need to constantly bring to the forefront so that we’re prepared for anything in life.

As a practitioner, we need to make sure we are doing these things ourselves:

  1. A healthy, balanced diet that’s fits your body type
  2. Meditation
  3. Being in nature as much as possible helps us feel grounded
  4. Movement
  5. Surround yourself with your tribe, your people, your community
  6. Do something that you love every single day
  7. Give back
  8. Do seasonal or yearly life audits on yourself

As mentioned previously in the conversation, being a health practitioner can be energetically draining.

Do you have any practices or rituals that you find the most efficient way to “recharge” between clients?

The pre, post, and during (the session) are the most important.

Prior to the session

Prior to bringing people in I make sure that I give myself time to do mediation work on myself but also on the person coming in to make sure that I am clear, grounded, and holding space just for that one person coming in.

I am simply there to hopefully shine a light on whatever needs to be brought in that time with them.

I am not the one that does the healing, they (my clients) are the ones that do the healing, I'm just there to provide that support, that space, and that potential insight that can help them." - Linda

During the session

During the interactions with my client, I make sure that I'm constantly grounded and that there is no judgment.

I am on “neutral ground” and just looking in, hearing them, and hearing their story.

After the session

After my sessions, I’ll do self-care practice by taking a shower and doing another meditation.

I have to do these things to clear the energy and be a neutral vessel.

“Setting the intention for helping someone makes the world of a difference.” - Kiki

Is there anyone or anything that's really inspiring you right now?

My guide has always been nature.

Actually observing, witnessing, and being there in that space whether it's in a forest, backyard, or hiking.

There is so much to learn on that micro and macro scale in just those experiences alone.
