I am most successful and have the most fun when I help people get through something I have already figured out. I have an opinionated badass mom who was never afraid to share her opinion, which was embarrassing but I inherited that from her. When I show up online and tell it like it is, I have the most success.

Addressing the Fear of Launching & Using Disaster Logic Technique to Get Through Your Launch!
Fear is something that we all face as business owners and health coaches.
The fear that nobody will join your course, like your programs, you won’t make money…
Fear is an all-encompassing emotion!
What if we addressed and embraced that fear head-on in order to get through it?
Make sure you tune in at around 4:30 where Erica shares her story about the very first launch she created, a program on how to show up on Instagram. Erica mentions that she had the evidence in her life that she could do things if she put her mind to it, so she created an online course and decided to launch it.
And then, cue imposter syndrome…
To get through the fear of failure, Erica went back to this very specific technique that her grandmother taught her:
“Disaster logic”
How to Use Disaster Logic to Get Through Your Fears
If you can play the worst-case scenario when you feel that fear is taking over, especially when it comes to launching, that will force you to think about what negative things can happen and how you will emotionally navigate those scenes.
Also, when you can think through the worst-case scenario it takes the importance off of failure.
“There is no other way through it other than getting through it!” - Erica
For example,
If you launch and no one joins, what’s the worst that can happen?
Your community won’t know that no one else joined, you are no further behind than you were before.
You are simply now in a position to say to yourself
“it didn’t work, now I know where I went wrong, let’s try it again in a different way.”
Worst case scenario is actually a best-case scenario as you learn and grow through that experience. If you had stopped yourself from going through that launch you would have never known the outcome or where to tweak your program for phase 2 launch success.
Remember, Your Launch Will be an Emotional Rollercoaster - that’s okay!
If you go into a launch with certain expectations, you might end up feeling deflated at the end of it all. Launches rarely go according to plan and Erica reminds us that you will hit bumps and swerves in the road and experience things you didn’t plan for. That’s okay!
Being resilient in a launch period and adapting to the situations at hand is incredibly important!
“I’ll never get to the top of a mountain, that’s okay!! You can have a picnic on the side of the mountain.” - Erica
Are There Hacks or Key Elements That Can Set a Launch Up for Success? Here are some steps that Erica works through before her launch:
- Ask yourself, what works for ME during launch season? There are many different launch styles, Erica prefers open and close carts because that’s what works for her. You may prefer to keep your program evergreen. Get in touch with what works best for your unique style and personality (and capacity).
- Plan your content ahead of time. Think about your content calendar and warm your audience up with relevant content weeks before your launch schedule.
- Think about your background prep! What payment systems are you using? What program delivery systems do you prefer? You can use something like Meal Garden *unique code below* to create and deliver the programs!
- Self-care is important! Think about your mental and physical health during the week, you might be stressed during the launch so remember to keep healthy and accessible food on hand and take breaks when you can.
- Money mindset is everything! Think about your money mindset and step into who you want to be as a coach from revenue or financial POV. Erica shares her story of how she steps into her financial power by hitting up a local hotel spa to do work.
Things to NOT Believe About Launching
One thing Erica advises to not do is believe everything that’s out there. You can use your intuition when it comes to the advice you are receiving and find a system or plan that works best for you:
- Timeframe
- Commitment levels
- Capacity
- And energy levels
A lot of the advice Erica hears is about following formulas and using proprietary frameworks, and she believes that the thing that stops people from a successful launch is following someone else’s formula instead of listening to your unique blueprint.
I do not subscribe to: here’s the way I have to do it, do it my way.
— Erica
And in closing, she’s reminding us to launch however we want! What do you think?
