This week on the podcast, Kiki sat down with Cristina Madine, an Integrative Nutrition health coach with a nursing background, who helps women say goodbye to the emotional roller coaster, exhaustion, and problem periods with a hormone-balancing protocol, female energy healing, and cycle syncing so they can ditch the pill, get pregnant or just feel amazing in their bodies.
Specializing in hormone and fertility health, she offers women a simplified way to exchange chronic symptoms for thriving health minus the bandaid one size fits all approach.
Meal Garden was an essential tool when I started my business, so reasonably priced with a ton of ready made meal plans. Then once I found my niche about hormones they already had programs and meal plans, it really helps me to provide that customized plan with ease. And the hormone programs are a nice touch as well. ~ Cristina Madine
What cycle syncing means and why it’s different for everyone
Cristina explains that cycle syncing comes down to the different hormonal processes in the female body throughout the month.
“We have different energy requirements, different things that are needed at each time to help achieve optimal health.” ~ Cristina Madine
She elaborates that certain nutrients we need, even down to the type of exercise we do - and if we are out of sync with these particular needs, it can harm us and cause more problems. And here's the kicker - a lot of the stuff out there, well, most of the research is done on men!
“So this is why it's so critical for me when I see women struggling with fibroids, heavy periods, all this stuff, etc. - they need to pay attention to cycle syncing!”
Understanding men’s 24-hour cycle vs. women’s 28-day cycle
Here are the facts: as women, we’re on a 28-day cycle, whereas men are on a 24-hour cycle.
“My mind was blown when I heard that, and I've now created my life centered around my 28-day cycle and helping other women to do that as well!”
This is crucial to understand so we as women do not force ourselves into this 24-hour turnover, ‘hustle, hustle, hustle’ schedule.
Just because it may work for some men - doesn’t mean it will work for us.
Cristina believes we need to start dealing with root issues vs. going on birth control to “deal with your hormones.”
Benefits of using Meal Garden with cycle syncing
Cristina loves using Meal Garden with her clients for this reason - it’s honoring the root bio individuality of each woman.
“I love that I can really customize the plans, because I can really change it and say, let's gear it towards what's happening with you during this week.”
For instance, for women coming off the pill, she has a special detox plan all ready-made and ready-to-use in Meal Garden for helping women replenish their nutrient levels during this transition.
“And I can go and tweak their plan to exactly how they’ll like it best, because who wants to eat things that they don’t like?! I don't want people to suffer.”
“If you don't like eating kale, we're not going to put you on kale - and I love that I can do that with Meal Garden! There’s already a base of a lot of stuff already, I can then go in and just tweak and it saves me so much time.”
