EP162: Helping Clients Get To A Bloat Free Life

Member Profile

One of the great things about Meal Garden is that there's a wide variety of recipes, and it's easy to adjust the ingredients of each recipe.

I can remove that ingredient that might not work with this person and replace it or completely take it out and give another person the same recipe.

Do your clients struggle with bloating?

Kiki sat down with Registered holistic nutritionist Shannon Babic who shared how her digestive struggles inspired her to help women live a bloat-free life.

So, tune in to the podcast below or read on to be inspired, learn a little about a fellow Meal Gardener, to find out that one thing the Meal Garden platform provides to make Shannon’s life a little easier :)

Q: What Inspired Your Nutritional Practice?

I decided to focus on that area simply due to my struggles with digestive health in the past. Interestingly, my symptoms didn't start as digestive issues because I was dealing a lot with hormonal acne then, and I was looking for answers everywhere and couldn't find them. Eventually, when I started working with a naturopathic doctor, I brought up that I was experiencing digestive issues.

We could connect the chronic acne I had been experiencing to the SIBO symptoms I was also dealing with at the time.

Going through that whole debacle, in a sense, really inspired me to go back to school, become a holistic nutritionist, and help women.

I know that just being able to fit into clothes & look and feel great is very personal.

Q: How Can We Denormalize Bloat & Find Root Answers and Solutions?

I think over time, bloating and gut issues have become normalized. I think it's a combination of our medical system that may not be aware of the root cause of IBS and just putting band-aids on it.

Everybody's different, and our gut microbiomes differ from person to person. It's a matter of trial and error, but also using the right foods, the right herbs, & the right supplements to help combat that bacteria that's overgrowing in the small intestine, specifically with SIBO.

One of the great things about Meal Garden is that there's a wide variety of recipes, and it's easy to adjust the ingredients of each recipe.

I can remove that ingredient that might not work with this person and replace it or completely take it out and give another person the same recipe.

Q: What Have Been Your Biggest Lessons as A Practitioner?

I have found that it's essential to prioritize filling my cup because I can't help fill others if mine isn't complete.

How am I supposed to help other people get to that optimal health if I'm personally not even there - concerning mental health?

My passion is to help women get better, overcome those digestive issues, and eventually beat the bloat.

To do that, I must ensure that I am mentally and physically in tip-top shape to bring that energy into my work professionally.

If I do that, I also feel my best. So by focusing on filling my cup, I can also fill yours.
